TEAM LEADERS

untitled-copy.jpg

Team Leaders (TLs) are upper-class students who volunteer to lead small groups or teams students in GT 1000 classes. The team leaders serve as a bridge between the instructor and freshmen and connect students with the larger Georgia Tech community. They assist in planning and teaching the course, facilitating class discussions, arranging for guest speakers, developing interactive exercises, and participating in assessing student performance.

An effective Team Leader is expected to attend all classes and to share something of their personal experiences as Georgia Tech students such as triumphs, defeats, and overcoming problems. They are required to meet weekly with the instructor and to meet with and communicate with their team members outside of class time. Team leaders are encouraged to keep up with what is going on with the students on their team in terms of grades, accomplishments, adjustments, and problems.

Current and prospective Team Leaders should visit the Team Leader Page.

Team Leader Recruitment

Team Leader recruitment begins at the start of each Phase I class registration period.  Students who are interested in being a team leader should visit the team leader recruitment page.

Team Leader Advisory Board (TLAB)

The Team Leader Advisory Board (TLAB) is the organizing body for team leaders, responsible for recruitment, training, support, and evaluation of team leaders. TLAB members work closely with the faculty and staff to improve the overall GT1000 course. Students may become part of the TLAB after having served at least one term as a team leader.
