These interactive sessions are intended to be supplemental to the course and not a replacement for any part thereof.Research has shown that regular attendance and participation in these sessions can improve a student's performance from on-half to a full letter grade.
Sessions are casual and fun and are facilitated by successful PLUS leaders who have taken the course. Please bring any course materials to the session that you may have, including texts, your notes, instructor notes, and materials distributed in class. Students may also find it helpful to bring some questions or concerns, or to have begun the assignments or reading for that section of the course prior to attendance.
However, you do not need to have questions to attend the sessions. The facilitators will bring plenty of practice materials for everyone to work on in a collaborative environment, as well as provide insight on how to study the material for maximum learning and understanding. PLUS groups are for all students in the course, not just students having difficulty. Sessions will focus on difficult material, not student performance in the course. As such, PLUS is for EVERYONE!
